Yet another Torontonian who has moved out to the Okanagan. My story in B.C. began back in 2007 when I first came out West to re-plant the forests of the BC Interior. I fell in love with the landscape and the endless adventures that it offered. In 2010, I opted for a summer season working in hospitality in Banff, Alberta so that I could enjoy exploring the Mountains as opposed to planting trees into them. That summer I launched a Kids Program at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, who then offered me a winter position. The decision to stay fundamentally changed my life. I ended up living in Banff for 10 years, exploring the mountains during the day and working in an incredibly high-end environment at night. My passion for the outdoors magnified as skiing, mountain biking and scrambling/hiking became a big part of my life. At the same time, I developed into an expert in high-end customer service, a practiced sommelier and a published mixologist. This work/life balance is the reason, when it was time to move on from Banff, that I chose Kelowna as my new home.
